Former Inter striker Giampaolo Pazzini believes that the Nerazzurri can approach the derby against AC Milan tomorrow full of confidence thanks to their recent form.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster QS ahead of tomorrow’s massive derby, the 37-year-old highlighted that while the Rossoneri have shown remarkable consistency in the league, Inter can also feel that based on their recent matches they have what it takes to get the result that they need.

Inter have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, dropping a total of nine points from three draws and a loss against Lazio, but their city rivals have been even better, with only a draw against Juventus keeping them from having a perfect record after eleven matches.

The Rossoneri’s league form looks to be formidable, but Inter will not be intimidated as they know that, in the games since the Lazio loss, they have looked to be in imperious form themselves.

Neither side will underestimate the qualities that they face in the other during this edition of the Milan derby, but on recent form it could well be the Nerazzurri who feel more confident going in.

“Milan are doing extraordinary things in the league,” Pazzini stated. “Inter are a bit behind them, but they come from a victory in the Champions League against Sheriff that has given them confidence. There is so much motivation and adrenaline that the fatigue disappears.”

He went on that “With San Siro full, in the derby, you are energized. In these matches usually the great champions make the difference. I focus on the attackers. Ibrahimovic on the one hand, an animal for these challenges. In Inter both the starters, Dzeko and Lautaro.”
