Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is aiming to match a record that has not been challenged since 1949, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by L’Interista, Lautaro Martinez has a chance to become the first Inter player to score twice in back to back matches against AC Milan since 1949.

That feat was achieved back in 1949 by Istvan Nyers. He achieved that on the 6th of February and 6th of November in that season.

Lautaro Martinez scored twice last time out against AC Milan in the 5th and 58th minutes and now he will be desperate to repeat that achievement so that he can match the record of Istvan Myers.

He will also be desperate to mark last weeks news where he signed his new contract extension with the Nerazzurri by being the key player and delivering victory for his side.

The Derby della Madonnina will kick off at 20:45 local time on Sunday.
