Legendary former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi believes that Inter are the stronger side in the Milan derby, but that AC Milan have enough quality to hurt them.
Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the Bianconeri legend gave his appraisals of the two Milan sides ahead of tomorrow’s massive derby.
Inter sit seven points behind their city rivals in the Serie A table, but the standings do not tell the entire story, as the Nerazzurri’s squad and style of play looks to be more than strong enough to make up the ground on the Rossoneri and league leaders Napoli.
However, the Rossoneri have dropped only two points in their first eleven matches, and there is little doubt that they can find a way to win tomorrow’s massive head-to-head clash.
Tacchinardi predicts that it will be a balanced encounter, though he gives Inter the slight edge as the side with more quality.
“I see Inter as stronger,” he stated. “but Milan have unpredictable players who can hurt any team. Pioli is a factor who adds something. It seems to me that to date Pioli is showing more than Spalletti, on a tactical level. The feeling, however, is that Inter has something more.”
