Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is likely to start in this evening’s match against his former club AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition, who predict that the Turk will see off the competition of Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino to start in midfield in the massive first derby of the season against the Rossoneri.

Calhanoglu has yet to show his best form on a consistent basis in a Nerazzurri shirt, and at times coach Simone Inzaghi has looked to Vidal or Vecino to give his midfield a different dimension.

Vidal in particular is still in contention for the starting role alongside Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella, but it is Calhanoglu who the Corriere predict will start the match.

Meanwhile, Federico Dimarco could also be considered to start the derby, either in place of Ivan Perisic or Alessandro Bastoni, but is not favourite to do so.

The Corriere’s complete predicted starting eleven for the match is as follows:

INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Dzeko, Lautaro.
