The assistant coach of the Bosnian national team has branded Simone Inzaghi’s claims about Edin Dzeko’s fitness issues as “nonsense”, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, Elvir Rahimic, the deputy to Bosnian head coach Ivaylo Petev, did not take kindly to the comments of Inter boss Simone Inzaghi.

The Inter coach was concerned that after Edin Dzeko limped off against AC Milan last Sunday with a muscle issue, the Bosnian national team would make him play both of the World Cup qualifier matches against Finland and Ukraine.

Elvir Rahimic branded these claims as “nonsense”, which suggests that the national team are well aware of Edin Dzeko’s physical vulnerability right now and will act accordingly.

The Bosnian has been a key performer for Simone Inzaghi so far this season so it is understandable that they may be concerned about any injury aggravation.
