Former Inter striker Robert Acquafresca has claimed that Inter will finish third in Serie A this season behind AC Milan and Napoli, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.com, Robert Acquafresca explained that Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli side will be crowned champions come the end of the Serie A campaign.

“Napoli above all, then Milan and Inter. They will lose a few points, whoever makes less mistakes will win.”

Interestingly though, Robert Acquafresca believes that Juventus can still not be discounted entirely from the running, despite being eighth in the table right now.

“But I don’t exclude Juventus: everything is possible and as long as there is mathematics.”

Juventus lost Cristiano Ronaldo unexpectedly at the end of the summer transfer window when he moved to Manchester United, and Robert Acquafresca feels that Max Allegri would have been able to get the best out of the Portuguese superstar.

“He did not expect Ronaldo to leave at the end of the transfer market. Allegri is a great leader, he would have managed CR7 in the best way because he is a phenomenon in keeping the group. However, I see Juve recovering.”

Napoli and AC Milan sit joint top of the Serie A standings right now with 32 points and Inter and seven behind them in third.

Juventus are fourteen points away from the summit.
