The Supercoppa Italiana match between Inter and Juventus will be played in Milan on January 12 rather than in Saudi Arabia, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, a decision was announced at the Lega Calcio assembly to play the game at San Siro in Milan.

There was a chance that the game would be played in Saudi Arabia, as it has been before, as part of an effort to spread the awareness of Italian football in other areas of the world.

Sponsorship, travel, ad calendar issues meant there was a long discussion and many disagreements about where to play the game.

The two clubs, Inter and Juventus, would have earned more if they were able to play the game in Saudi Arabia.

The last time the Supercoppa was played in Milan was back in 2010 when Inter beat Roma.
