Former Inter president Massimo Moratti has suggested that a previous Inter sporting director would have managed to bring Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne to the club, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Radio Kiss Kiss, via FCInter1908, Massimo Moratti said that if former sporting director Marco Branca was still at the club, Lorenzo Insigne would now be an Inter player.

“Marco Branca would have been able to take Insigne, I would have gone calmly with him in the company organization chart.”

Massimo Moratti also discussed the performances of Napoli under Luciano Spalletti this season and he feels this could be the year for the Azzurri to win the league title.

“Napoli impressed me a lot and with Spalletti, it can really be the right year for the Scudetto victory.”

There was also comment passed on both AC Milan and Inter. Massimo Moratti feels Inter have remained competitive despite the losses of Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi in the summer.

“AC Milan surprised me at how it has become a real team with the right coach, then there is Inter who, despite important transfers, has remained competitive this year too.”

The final word showed that despite the good performances of the Rossoneri and the Nerazzurri, it is Napoli who Massimo Moratti feels will lift the Serie A trophy this season.

“To tell the truth, however, I see the Azzurri a hair in front of everyone.”
