Inter have developed a tendency to underperform in the Serie A match that immediately follows the international break, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been argued by Tuttosport today, this trend is something Simone Inzaghi must change when the team faces Napoli at the end of the current international break.

The match against the Azzurri is crucial to Inter’s league campaign because if they lose the match to Luciano Spalletti’s side, they will be 10 points behind them.

Following the two international breaks that have already happened this season, Inter have drawn with Sampdoria in a game they were expected to comfortably win, and they have lost to Lazio.

Whether Simone Inzaghi can change this will depend largely on the physical state that his players return to Appiano Gentile in.

Edin Dzeko is of particular interest as he is suffering a muscle strain that may be aggravated whilst with Bosnia.
