Siena director Giorgio Perinetti has suggested that Napoli are not yet ready to let Lorenzo Insigne leave the club, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Marte, via FCInter1908, Giorgio Perinetti explained that these contract situations where the player is in the final year are becoming completely normal.

Abroad these situations are absolutely normal. Every professional has his own contract, if he has three years left he must behave in the most appropriate way.”

Giorgio Perinetti then went on to say that he expects the player to continue carrying on with the job in hand whilst Napoli do what they can to make him a better contract offer.

“False problem, of which it is right to speak. Insigne will do his duty, Napoli will try to convince him on his terms. The situation of the expiry is not sp, you risk going back to when the contracts were made annually”.

Inter were heavily linked with a move for Lorenzo Insigne during the summer transfer window but in the end the Nerazzurri decided to sign Joaquin Correa from Lazio as he was a cheaper option.

Inter may still want to sign him in the summer on a free transfer but they will not want to give him wages that stop them from signing other targets.
