Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni left the Italy camp to undergo treatment on an injury, and the club are monitoring him closely

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Bastoni did not feature in Italy’s 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Friday after picking up a minor adductor injury against AC Milan last weekend, and has since been sent back to Inter.

The defender returned to Milan yesterday and will continue his recovery with the club, as they attempt to rush him back to fitness for next weekend’s crunch match against Serie A leaders Napoli.

Bastoni is set to undergo tests at the club’s Appiano Gentile training centre tomorrow, or Tuesday at the latest, as the Nerazzurri seek to resolve the muscular strain.

It comes as fellow centre-back Stefan De Vrij limped off in the Netherlands’ 2-2 draw against Montenegro yesterday, giving Inter coach Simone Inzaghi cause for concern in his defence ahead of the Napoli encounter.
