Inter midfielder Matias Vecino has warned that he is not satisfied with his playing time and make seek to take action if he does not feature more prominently.

The Uruguayan is currently away on international duty after a campaign in which he has only started one Serie A match and appeared as a substitute in seven others under new coach Simone Inzaghi.

Speaking at a press conference from Uruguay’s camp earlier today, and as reported by FCInter1908.it, Vecino complained of his lack of playing time compared to with the national team, and suggested promises from the start of the season had been broken.

“With the national team I have always had the opportunity to play, I have always had continuity. It is clear that this gives you a lot of confidence, it allows you to show your maximum potential and your best,” Vecino stated.

“In football there are moments, we go through different situations. In this case at Inter, in recent months, I am experiencing a situation that I was not expecting at the beginning of the season, according to what was established after speaking with the club.”

The former Fiorentina midfielder insisted that he would continue to work hard to earn his place back in the team, but if his situation did not resolve itself he would consider pushing for a departure.

“I respect the decisions made by the coach, stay focused, train to the maximum and be available when the coach and the team need me. As I said before, these are moments that are positive and sometimes negative.

“But it is clear that if this goes on too long, I think we will have to talk, always with the utmost respect, to find a solution that suits everyone.”

Vecino has scored 13 goals in 114 appearances for Inter since joining in 2017, and missed much of last season’s Scudetto triumph with a long-standing knee injury.
