Inter Could Sign Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez In January If Matias Vecino Departs, Italian Media Report

Inter could bring in Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez during the January transfer window, but only if Matias Vecino is sold.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri could resume their pursuit of the Rossoblu player as a replacement for Vecino.

Vecino’s recent remarks about feeling like he has insufficient playing time at the club could suggest that he wants a move away.

The Nerazzurri would be potentially amenable to a move for the 30-year-old, but they would not let him go for less than €10 million.

Should Vecino be on his way, then the Nerazzurri could turn to fellow Uruguayan Nandez, a player who had been a major target in the summer before a deal with Cagliari fell through.

Nandez is particularly admired for his versatility by the club, and could act not only as a direct replacement for Vecino, but also as a further option on the right side where Denzel Dumfries has yet to really settle.
