Further confirmation has been given to the report by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia that Inter met with the representatives of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic regarding a contract extension.

Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it report that the meeting did indeed place and that the parties opened up formal discussions to try and find an agreement on a new deal for the 29-year-old.

Extending Brozovic’s contract has been a major priority for the Nerazzurri, given the Croat’s status as a key midfielder at the club and the fact that his current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022.

However, prior to today no formal talks have taken place to try and find an agreement, as the Nerazzurri had not been able to meet with the player’s father and family agent.

However, Sky and Gazzetta.it have now both confirmed that the talks have started up, though further meetings will be needed to see whether an agreement can be found.
