Inter are expected to know much more about the physical condition of striker Alexis Sanchez by Friday evening, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Chilean striker picked up yet another injury whilst playing for Chile during the week.

This time it is a thigh injury that was sustained during a costly defeat to Ecuador, who look set to teach the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

Early suggestions are that the Chilean will be absent for Inter for at least a month over the Christmas period. He will undergo more tests soon though and the overall picture is expected to be much clearer by Friday evening.

He will be back in Milan on Thursday afternoon ready to meet with the club’s medical staff.

Lautaro Martinez also sustained an injury but it is expected to be very insignificant in relation to the next match.
