Inter are hoping to have reached an agreement with Marcelo Brozovic for a new contract in two weeks at the next meeting, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the most recent meeting between Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio and the Croatian midfielder’s entourage was very positive and there is renewed optimism that a deal can be done.

It is no secret that the club wants to keep the player as he is a key part of the project, and Simone Inzaghi views him as such.

The player is also keen to stay at the club as he is settled and has business interests in the city that would be disrupted by moving to a new team.

Inter are hoping to agree on a salary of around €5.5 million per season whereas the player and his entourage want €6 million excluding bonuses.
