Premier League club Newcastle United are targeting Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic and Stefan de Vrij.

This according to UK news outlet The Times, who report that the Tyneside club are preparing a raid of the two Nerazzurri players as well as Lazio goalkeeper Tomas Strakosha.

Newcastle’s recent takeover by Saudi fund the PIF has been widely reported, and has left the English side ready to make significant expenditures on player transfers going forward.

Among their main targets to reinforce the squad available to newly-appointed manager Eddie Howe, they have identified Nerazzurri midfielder Brozovic and defender de Vrij.

Brozovic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022, while dr Vrij’s contract runs out one year later at the end of June 2023.

Should the Nerazzurri not be able to find agreements with either of the players, then the Magpies could swoop as they look to add top players from Serie A to their squad.
