The Cagliari sporting director Stefano Capozucca has claimed that there are no official offers for Nahitan Nandez despite Inter’s rumoured interest in the midfielder, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Radiolina, via FCInternews, Stefano Capozucca explained that even though the agent of the Uruguayan midfielder is very vocal in the press, there are no offers from any club for him right now.

“The truth of these rumours is there. In the case of Nandez there is a very active agent in the newspapers, but there are no offers.”

Stefano Capozucca went on to stress that Nahitan Nandez is an incredibly important player for the Sardinian side and he does not see why they should give the player away to a top team in the same division on a loan deal.

“For us Nandez is an important player who gives his soul to Cagliari. When Cagliari bought him the president he made an important investment and now I don’t see why he should give it away to a top-tier team on loan.”

Nahitan Nandez was extremely close to joining Inter in the summer transfer window on loan with a fee agreed for the permanent purchase a year later.

The deal fell through when the two sides could not agree on the loan fee.
