Former Inter defender Massimo Paganin has suggested that Inter’s chances of winning the Scudetto will take a serious hit if they lose to Napoli this Sunday, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Calcio Napoli 24 TV, via FCInternews, Massimo Paganin explained that Inter will be a whole 10 points behind Napoli should they lose the big match on Sunday evening.

He was keen to stress though that the championship is still long but the run in would be very difficult for Inter, with no room for error.

“If Inter lost they would go ten points behind, but the championship is still long, there would be no assignment of the Scudetto, it is clear, but the run-in would be even more difficult and without room for error.”

It is no secret that Inter need the three points more than Napoli do on Sunday evening, as was the case when the Nerazzurri faced AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina two weeks ago.

Getting within four points of Napoli would be huge at this stage as Napoli have a very challenging fixture list coming up over the next few weeks.
