Inter and Marcelo Brozovic are closer than they ever have been to finding an agreement on the Croatian’s new contract, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by the Roman daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the recent meeting held between Inter executives Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio along with Marcelo Brozovic’s representatives ended with an agreement seeming very possible.

There is still a difference in valuation between the two parties, but they aim to close this gap in another productive meeting in around two weeks time.

Inter want the Croatian midfielder to earn €5.5 million per season but the player and is entourage want a slightly higher figure.

The gap in valuation is not drastic but nonetheless, it does exist. The player will be out of contract with the Nerazzurri in June 2022 so the matter is becoming more and more urgent for Inter by the day.
