Inter’s owners are being let off the hook but the quality of the football people currently at the club, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been argued today in the print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInternews, the Chinese ownership are fighting their own financial battles and are lucky that the team are still performing to a high enough standard.

Many fans feared for Inter when the financial issues at the club came to light in the summer and Antonio Conte left, followed by the sales of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta managed to quickly hire Simone Inzaghi and still build a squad capable of, so far, challenging for the Scudetto.

This has allowed the Chinese ownership to focus on their business in China, boosted by the team’s likely qualification to the latter stages of the Champions League.
