Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is aiming to score his first Nerazzurri goal since the match against Sassuolo at the start of October, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Argentine forward last netted for Simone Inzaghi’s side when he scored a penalty against Sassuolo on October 2.

He has more recently scored for his national team, Argentina, but even that goal was over a month ago. He scored an important goal on October 15 against Peru in a 1-0 victory to help Lionel Scaloni’s side in their efforts to qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup finals.

It will be of serious concern to Simone Inzaghi and Inter as a whole that a player who just signed a new contract with the club is struggling so much in front of goal.

It was expected that the Argentine would be the primary source of goals within the team.
