Hellas Verona forward Gianluca Caprari has admitted to regrets about his spells with both Roma and Inter, after enjoying a good start to the season.

Caprari came through the academy of hometown club Roma but left for Pescara in 2014 after just seven appearances, and then joined Inter in 2016 but never featured for the Nerazzurri as he was immediately loaned back to Pescara before joining Sampdoria the following year.

In an interview published in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Caprari reflected on why he hadn’t made it at either club and whilst he blamed himself at Roma, felt he didn’t get a chance at Inter.

“At Roma I was very young, 17, and the environment is not easy. But I remember that coach Luis Enrique looked at young players a lot, he helped us and when I said I wanted to leave he asked me to wait. I didn’t have patience,” the 28-year-old claimed.

“With Inter, I signed for them but they immediately sent me out on loan.”

Caprari, on loan at Verona from Sampdoria, then offered his thoughts on the Scudetto race and felt Inter were best equipped, despite being seven points behind Napoli in the table.

“Napoli are really strong. I wasn’t there with Inter, but in my opinion they are the most complete squad. I think they are still the best,” he added.

The former Italy U20 international has scored three goals in six appearances for Verona this season.
