Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has called for the Nerazzurri to carry on performing like they did against Napoli on Sunday evening, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media tonight.

Speaking to DAZN after the 3-2 victory, via FCInter1908, the Turkish international said that both he and Inter are playing well and that they need to continue like this.

“This year I play in another role, after some difficulties I am starting to do well. It takes time, when I got here everyone helped me. In the last few games I did well and I want to continue like this.

“We are a strong team. We believed in it even before, we always play well and we are on the right path. Now we have a decisive match against Shakhtar Donetsk.”

Hakan Calhanoglu equalised for Inter from the penalty spot after Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski had opened the scoring for Napoli early on.

He said that there was pressure but he had faith in himself to score given he did the same against AC Milan two weeks ago.

“I took it against Milan and continued today. There is pressure, but I remain calm because I have faith in myself.”

Inter were 3-2 up heading into the final stages and it looked extremely likely that Napoli might find a way to equalise. Hakan Calhanoglu admits that Napoli were pressing hard but Inter managed to get the three points.

“Napoli pressed hard, but we always came out well. We didn’t give up until the end. I knew that in the last 10 minutes it would be difficult, but in the end we took the three points.”

Inter are now just four points behind the league leaders.
