Former Juventus winger Franco Causio believes Inter possess the best squad in Serie A, but face a tough test later today against a Napoli side led by Luciano Spalletti.

The Nerazzurri welcome Spalletti’s league leaders to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as they seek to cut a seven point gap at the top, whilst Napoli can move three points clear of AC Milan with a win.

Speaking to Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss yesterday, Causio felt that no other team had the squad depth of Inter but there was a strong sense of optimism at Napoli and they had benefitted from the arrival of Spalletti in the summer.

“Inter have the strongest squad in the league, but Napoli are enthusiastic and Spalletti is the added value, because he has given this team an identity,” the 1982 World Cup winner declared.

“I expect a beautiful and balanced game. May the best team win.”

Causio enjoyed great success with Juventus 1970 and 1981, winning the Serie A title six times and helping the Bianconeri to the 1977 UEFA Cup.

After three years at Udinese, he then spent a season with Inter in 1984-85 before ending his career with Lecce and Triestina.
