Inter could face fines for territorial discrimination chants made by some supporters in the Curva Nord during the 3-2 win over Napoli yesterday evening at the Giuseppe Meazza.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri fans’ references to Vesuvius in particular could see the club face fines.

The San Siro was full to allowable capacity for the massive head-to-head between the Nerazzurri and the Partenopei, and the atmosphere was intense as was to be expected.

Unfortunately, some Inter fans also made some chants against the Napoli supporters with the inappropriate references to Vesuvius.

Despite repeated warnings to stop the chants, some of the fans went on with them throughout the match, especially during the second half, and this could result in the club receiving fines given that the nature of the songs being chanted would be considered to be discriminatory and not allowed by the league.
