Inter are set to officially announce the signing of Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana for next season in February.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the agreement is in place with the Cameroonian, and that it will be made official as soon as it is possible to do so.

Inter have been strongly linked to Onana for several months, with discussions ongoing to bring the 25-year-old to the Giuseppe Meazza on a free transfer when his current deal with the Dutch champions expires at the end of June 2022.

The club have an agreement with the player worth a net of €3 million per season, and will make the announcement once the January transfer window has closed.

Arsenal had also been interested in Onana’s signature, but the player has made his decision and will join the Nerazzurri next summer as a free transfer, either to immediately take the starting spot from captain Samir Handanovic or to alternate with the Slovenian.
