Inter’s Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk will be overseen by Romanian referee Ovidiu Hategan.

This is confirmed by an announcement on the Nerazzurri’s official site, where the entire team of officials for the vital head-to-head clash in the Champions League.

Hategan will be assisted in his duties by the likes of fellow Romanians Mircea Mihail Grigoriu and Sebastian Gheorghe, while the role of the fourth official will be filled by Radu Petrescu, who is also Romanian.

In the VAR booth, the German team of Christian Dingert and his assistant Marco Fritz will look to ensure that any major errors made by the on-pitch officials are corrected.

The Nerazzurri and Shakhtar will both be hoping that the focus for the match is on the action on the pitch and that there are not any major refereeing controversies as each seek to continue their aims in Europe in the massive match.
