Hakan Calhanoglu and Samir Handanovic were among Inter’s standout performers in a strong team display as the Nerazzurri beat Napoli at the Giuseppe Meazza yesterday evening, according to Italian media.

Both players received strong 7/10 grades for their performances in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, as did several of their teammates.

Inter needed a number of their key players to be at their best in order to take three points off of league leaders Napoli, and across the pitch the necessary performances were clearly evident.

In goal, captain Handanovic had a strong evening which he capped off with a spectacular save from a Mario Rui header late on in the match as the Partenopei were searching for an equalizer.

Meanwhile, Calhanoglu also enjoyed one of his better performances in a Nerazzurri shirt, working hard and playing incisive balls on the counter-attack, and he also calmly dispatched the penalty from which his team equalized in the first half.

Matteo Darmian, Ivan Perisic, Lautaro Martinez, and Marcelo Brozovic all also received solid 7/10 grades for their impressive displays.

Meanwhile, the second-half substitutes were among the only players criticized by the Corriere, with Federico Dimarco handed a more middling 6/10 grade and scores of 5.5/10 reserved for the likes of Edin Dzeko and Arturo Vidal.
