The availability of Inter players Nicolo Barella and Joaquin Correa is still up in the air ahead of tomorrow’s match against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

This according to Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi, who provided updates about the availability of the duo speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of the fixture.

Inzaghi knows that tomorrow’s match will be of vital importance to the Nerazzurri’s season and that the team will need to be at their best if they want to get the best possible result from it.

A massive win over Napoli during the weekend will see Inzaghi’s men head into the match full of confidence, but they are coming up against a difficult opponent in the form of Shakhtar.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri have a number of absences or doubts in terms of fitness, with the intense schedule of the season starting to take its toll on the squad.

“They are undoubtedly coming up against us on the back of a great win,” Inzaghi stated, “we had a great match against Napoli, the guys did well to win the match and this gives us self-belief.”

Of Shakhtar he stated that “Our opponent has a lot of quality, in Kiev there were scoring chances, bigger ones on our part. De Zerbi is a highly prepared coach, he organizes the team well, we will have to be good at playing our game.”

“Our journey is still very long,” Inzaghi went on. “We are doing well, I think that in the head-to-head matches we have always played excellent football, it is clear that the result [against Napoli] is important for our confidence.”

On injuries ahead of the match the coach stated that “I think that’s part of the game, it’s normal. I had some problems on Sunday, Correa and Barella asked me to take them off, we’ll have to evaluate them.”

“Dzeko wasn’t at 100%, now there are more positive signs,” he continued, “there will be no De Vrij or Sanchez, or Satriano who is not in the squad list. Bastoni also took a hard blow on the shoulder, I will try to recover as many players as possible.”
