Inter are considering a move for Borussia Monchengladbach defense Matthias Ginter next summer when he is out of contract with his current club.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 27-year-old is a player seriously on the Nerazzurri’s radar as they look to reinforce their defensive options.

Inter are looking to bring in defensive players during the next summer transfer window, with some departures expected given that several players in the backline are out of contract next summer.

Aleksandar Kolarov, Danilo D’Ambrosio, and Andrea Ranocchia all see their deals expire at the end of June 2022, and it is unlikely that all three will be handed renewals so they could be on their way.

Should defensive reinforcements be needed, then Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta could focus on the strategy of signing players on free transfers to find quality and value in the transfer market.

Ginter’s current deal with Gladbach expires next summer, and at the moment it does not appear that he will find an agreement on an extension so he could be the right solution for the Nerazzurri, who are monitoring his situation closely.
