Denzel Dumfries could start for Inter during their Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk at the San Siro this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that Matteo Darmian is still the likeliest candidate to start on the right for the Nerazzurri but that Dumfries is also in serious contention.

Darmian has been the option used more often than not in the right-sided wing-back role by coach Simone Inzaghi, but Dumfries has also been turned to at times and the Dutchman could be given another opportunity against Shakhtar.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Corriere’s predicted starting eleven for the match is similar to the team that lined up against Napoli on the weekend, with Edin Dzeko coming in for Joaquin Correa in attack the only change.

The Corriere’s predicted eleven for the clash is as follows:

INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, Ranocchia, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Dzeko, Lautaro.
