The two goals from Edin Dzeko that sealed Champions League knockout football for Inter are worth around €20 million to the club, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Inter will have paid a maximum of €1.5 million for Edin Dzeko by the end of the season which is a bonus to AS Roma if the Nerazzurri can achieve a top four finish in Serie A and qualify for the Champions League again.

In exchange for this outlay, the two goals scored by the Bosnian last night means the club is immediately €20 million richer as that is what qualification from the group stage of the Champions League is worth.

This turn of events will have softened the blow to Inter fans of having lost Romelu Lukaku for €115 million to Chelsea in the summer and replaced him with Edin Dzeko on a free transfer.
