Inter could ask Ivan Perisic to half his salary if a new contract agreement is found before the end of the season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the Croatian winger will be out of contract in June 2022 and so far he has shown no interest in negotiating a new deal with the club.

The 33-year-old has emerged as a star performer this season under Simone Inzaghi but he is currently earning €5 million per season which is amongst the highest in the squad.

Inter’s financial situation means that they would need to halve that salary if he is to remain at the club and Ivan Perisic is not interested in such a deal.

His farewell to the club at the end of this season seems increasingly likely unless Inter change their minds about how much they are willing to pay for him.
