Inter sporting CEO Beppe Marotta has reiterated his and the club’s focus on the results that the team gets on the pitch rather than any financial issues, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking before the match against Shakhtar Donetsk to Mediaset Infinity, via FCInternews, Beppe Marotta explained that he is focused on the pitch.

“For us today the pitch is important, the many matches that follow one another that must always see us as protagonists.”

Inter won the match 2-0 and secured their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in 10 years, which is financially excellent for the club.

Beppe Marotta was also asked about the various contract negotiations that the club is currently in with players such as Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic.

The CEO explained that their approach to these matters is calm and the fortunes of the team on the pitch are what really matters.

“As far as any contract extensions are concerned, these are secondary aspects that we manage with peace of mind, without heartache. We are focused on the competitive aspect of the season.”

Both of the aforementioned players are out of contract in the summer but are key to Inter’s plans.
