Former Inter striker Christian Vieri has given his view that Romelu Lukaku is the more effective striker than Edin Dzeko between the two recent Nerazzurri players.

Speaking on his Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the former striker explained the difference between the qualities brought to the team by the two different attacking players.

Dzeko arrived from Roma this summer as the Nerazzurri looked to make up for the loss of Lukaku in attack following the Belgian’s shock sale to Chelsea at the beginning of August.

The Bosnian has gotten off to a strong start this season at his new club, with his brace against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday continuing his goalscoring impact.

However, Lukaku’s contributions were of massive importance, especially to the Scudetto win last campaign, and Vieri has no doubt that it is the Belgian who is the more dangerous all-around striker of the two.

“Between the two I’d take Lukaku,” he stated, “he has always been completely devastating. Under a coach like Conte who focuses a lot on the physical aspects of the game, he is perfect, because the more he works the better he is and he remains in top goalscoring form.”

He went on of the Belgian that “He scores thirty goals in a year because he is in form all season. Dzeko doesn’t need to work physically like the Belgian, who is a tank. The Bosnian is technically better, he works more in buildup.”
