Inter are ready to increase the salary terms offered to Ivan Perisic in order to convince the Croat to stay at the club beyond next summer.

This according to Croatian broadcaster HRT, who report that the Nerazzurri will meet with the 32-year-old’s entourage before Christmas and will offer between €3.5-4 million net per season to extend his contract until 2024.

Perisic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and up to this point he has not come close to agreeing on a new contract with the club.

The Croat would be able to leave the club next summer as it stands, amid interest from a number of European clubs, particularly in the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

However, the player’s form this season has been excellent, playing sixteen matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and making one assist while being lauded for his performances.

Perisic currently earns a net of €5 million per season, and the Nerazzurri had not initially been willing to go beyond €3 million net in their offer for a renewal, on the basis of their policy around extending players in his age bracket.

However, the 32-year-old’s displays this season have convinced the club to make finding an agreement on a renewal more of a priority, and they could be set to increase their offer in order to persuade his commit his future.

A meeting about the proposed contract extension will take place with Perisic’s representatives sometime next month, and the Nerazzurri will go to work trying to find an agreement on a new deal that would take Perisic until the end of June 2024.
