Inter winger Ivan Perisic is prepared to take a pay cut to continue playing for the Nerazzurri next season, according to a report in the Croatian media.

As has been reported in the player’s native country of Croatia by HRT: Sport, via FCInter1908, Ivan Perisic has been persuaded to remain at the club in the future thanks to the fine form that he is finding under new boss Simone Inzaghi.

The Croatian is on a contract that will run out in June 2022 and sees him earn €5 million per season at the Nerazzurri. That is too much for Inter to continue paying for a 33-year-old player.

Until very recently it seemed totally accepted that he would be leaving the club on a free transfer at the end of this season but now he may extend his contract to 2024 and earn €3.5 million per season instead.

A meeting is expected to take place before Christmas.
