Roberto Gagliardini is likely to take the place of Nicolo Barella in midfielder for Inter in their Serie A clash with Venezia this evening, ahead of Matias Vecino.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 27-year-old is the favourite to start alongside Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcelo Brozovic.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is set to make significant alterations to his starting eleven from the team which beat Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, and one notable change will be giving Barella a rest.

The 24-year-old has been virtually ever-present at club and international level, and he is set to take a place on the bench in this evening’s match.

In his place, Gagliardini and Vecino are contending for the starting position, but Gagliardini is the likelier of the pair to start.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport also predict a significant change in attack, with Joaquin Correa to come in for fellow Argentine Lautaro Martinez alongside Edin Dzeko up front.
