Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni looked comfortable in his central role in the backline for yesterday’s win over Venezia while Nicolo Barella continued to struggle with tiredness, according to Italian media.

The defender received a solid 7/10 score for his display in the player ratings for the Serie A clash in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, while the midfielder got a 6/10 grade.

Bastoni was filling in as the central defender in a back three rather than playing his usual role on the left side of the defensive unit.

However, the Corriere praised the 22-year-old for looking at home in the position, while also awarding a 7/10 grade for Federico Dimarco who played on the left.

Barella, meanwhile, was deemed to have looked a bit off the pace and short of his usual self, presumably as a result of the tiredness from the number of matches he has been playing for club and country of late.

Hakan Calhanoglu was also given a strong 7/10 grade for his match-winning goal and overall display, while Joaquin Correa was the lowest-scored player by the newspaper, with a 5.5/10 score for his failure to seriously affect the game.
