Inter defender Federico Dimarco added another dimension to the Nerazzurri’s play in possession during yesterday evening’s 2-0 win over Venezia in Serie A according to Italian media.

This is highlighted by Italian news outlet L’Interista, who note that the 24-year-old received good scores for his display in the player ratings from major Italian newspapers and singled out his passing from the left as a major asset to his team.

Dimarco started on the left of the back three due to Alessandro Bastoni having been moved centrally with the absences of Stefan de Vrij and Andrea Ranocchia, and he acquitted himself well.

The defender’s passing range from the position allowed the Nerazzurri to advance the ball higher up and helped Ivan Perisic to keep a higher starting position when the team had the ball.

L’Interista note that his impressive display came not long before the 24-year-old is expected to be handed a new deal by the club with improved financial terms, and they argue that his decisive impact in possession showed that this is fully merited.
