Inter have scored 34 goals after fourteen Serie A matches this season following their 2-0 win over Venezia yesterday evening.

As Sky Sport Italia transfer market analyst Giancarlo Di Marzio pointed out on air, this puts them level with the record achieved by the team at this stage last season.

Inter also got off to a strong start in front of goal last campaign under Antonio Conte, and by their fourteenth match, a 2-1 win over Hellas Verona, they managed to find the back of the net 34 times.

By coincidence, Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri team this season have managed the same number of goals after fourteen matches, also scoring twice in their fourteenth match to hit that number.

The Nerazzurri managed to win the Scudetto by some margin in the end last time around, and Inzaghi, the players, and the supporters will be hoping that they can turn their strong goalscoring start into eventual league triumph once again.

“The Nerazzurri have equalled their record last year under Conte,” Di Marzio explained. “In the era of three points for a win, last season is the only other time they have scored 34 times at this point in the season.”
