Inter Primavera midfielder Giovanni Fabbian is glad to be making an impact this season, and hopes to model his game off of senior Nerazzurri midfielder Nicolo Barella.

Speaking to the press, as reported by Italian news outlet FCInterNews, the 18-year-old gave his thoughts on his recent personal highlights and also singled Barella out as a player who he is especially a fan of among the senior team.

The Nerazzurri’s youth sector remains a productive source of talent, and this campaign the Primavera side is managed by treble-winning former Nerazzurri defender Christian Chivu.

The Romanian has the Primavera team sitting eighth in the under-19 league, and Fabbian recently starred for the team, coming off the bench to score and help lead the team to a 2-0 win over Pescara’s Primavera side.

After the match, the teenager gave his thoughts about his thoughts on the team’s and his own personal season.

He stated that “I certainly contributed to the win for the team and I am happy because we needed a win in the league after some negative results. We must continue like this together as a team.”

“I am very happy to be able to contribute to the good of this team with the goal,” he added, “but the important thing is victory for the squad, and if the goal arrives it makes me even happier.”

“As a midfielder I like Barella’s style of play,” Fabbian explained. “I always try to draw on and learn something from watching him, I watch him in the matches to be inspired.”

The midfielder continued that “I always try to do what the coach and the staff ask of me and I adapt to the instructions I’m given. Then if the goals come it’s just one more reason to be proud.”
