Spezia coach and former Inter midfielder Thiago Motta believes that the Nerazzurri have been the best team in Serie A since the beginning of the season.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s Serie A clash with Inter this week, as reported by FCInterNews, the Italian coach praised the quality of this Inter team and suggested that their current form reflects their true level.
Inter did not get off to a bad start in Serie A by any means, but several dropped points over the first few matches left them behind very fast starters AC Milan and Napoli.
However, in recent weeks the Nerazzurri’s form has been very positive, with the last three matches in Serie A having been a draw against the Rossoneri followed by wins over Napoli and Venezia to make up ground at the top.
In Motta’s view, however, this is not anything new with the team, but rather the results catching up to the strength of the team.
Asked whether the Nerazzurri are in a good moment of form, he stated that “For me they were the strongest team right from the start.”
“They are a complete team,” he went on, “capable of defending with eleven men and still playing out of pressure and committing players to the attack.”
“They know how to manage in periods where they have to come back and defend,” he added, “they have done so on numerous occasions.”
“For me they are the strongest side at the moment, but also the strongest team in the league overall,” Motta concluded.
