Inter are reportedly close to the signature of Chelsea defender Malang Sarr on loan during the January transfer window.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the Nerazzurri are in advanced talks to sign the 22-year-old on loan with an option to buy in January.

Sarr has found limited playing time at Stamford Bridge since his arrival on a free transfer in the summer of 2020.

The French defender spent last season out on loan at Porto before returning to London this summer where he has made just one start in the Premier League and two in the EFL Cup under Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

The English side look to be willing to part ways with Sarr, and Inter are ready to snap him up as their first January signing.

The Nerazzurri are looking to provide more solid backup options to the first-choice defensive trio of Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, and Alessandro Bastoni for coach Simone Inzaghi.

The club are negotiating for an initial loan move for the Frenchman, with an option to buy him on a permanent basis worth €15 million.
