Inter are hoping to find an agreement with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic on a contract extension in the next few weeks.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzuri are now just one step away from the renewal, and that the club are aiming to formalize the agreement soon.

Brozovic’s father Ivan and the family lawyer who represents him met with the club officially for the first time on November 17, after some preliminary phone contacts.

There is still work to be done finding an agreement on salary terms, as the economic aspect of the agreement did not make progress during that initial round of talks.

However, the club are aware of the 29-year-old’s demands of around €7 million net per season, and are prepared to come close to it with an offer of a four-year deal worth €5.5-6 million net per season plus add-ons.

The Nerazzurri are optimistic that an agreement can be found given that the clear will of the player is to stay on at the club.
