Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Inter have been the form team in Serie A over the past month or so.
Writing in his column in yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, the journalist gave the view that the Nerazzurri are the team with momentum in a Scudetto race that is now realistically down to four teams.
Inter will have looked at the two teams leading the Serie A table during the early part of the season and worried that the Scudetto race would be fought between AC Milan and Napoli.
However, over the past several matchdays the Nerazzurri have started to catch up, with a win over the Partenopei last weekend crucial to seeing them sitting four points behind the Partenopei and just one behind the Rossoneri.
Atalanta are also ready to make their presence known in the title race, and the two teams at the top are still strong, but Inter could look at their recent form as an omen that they are the team with the best Scudetto credentials.
Sconcerti said of the Scudetto race that “There are four teams left out of the seven that started. They are Napoli and Inter, who have lost just one game apiece, plus Milan and Atalanta who have each lost two.”
He went on that “Napoli made an important step forward in terms of points and showing that they can get straight back on their feet.”
“Inter are also growing,” he added. “They have been the best team in the league for a month and have caught up with Milan.”
