Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries will be given the chance to prove himself in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Venezia this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 25-year-old will be handed the start on the right in place of the injured Matteo Darmian.

Dumfries has been struggling for form in an Inter shirt since his arrival from PSV in the summer despite showing flashes of his talent.

A clumsy challenge against Juventus which led to the Bianconeri’s controversial late penalty being awarded by VAR did not help the Dutchman’s confidence.

However, Simone Inzaghi is set to put his trust in the Dutchman and give him the start against Spezia, another opportunity to prove that he is beginning to settle in and beginning to show his best form.

Meanwhile, the Corriere predicts that one out of Roberto Gagliardini and Arturo Vidal will start in midfield, while Danilo D’Ambrosio is expected to play from the start in defense thanks to the injuries to Stefan de Vrij and Andrea Ranocchia.
