Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi believes that his team can get the better of Spezia in this evening’s Serie A clash in spite of the players who are absent from the team.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN ahead of the match, the Italian tactician acknowledged that injuries are a factor for his team in the match, particularly in defense, but was still confident about getting the result they need.

The Nerazzurri are without defender Alessandro Bastoni through a stomach illness having already come into the match already knowing that they would not be able to rely on the likes of Matteo Darmian, Stefan de Vrij and Andrea Ranocchia due to injuries.

However, all three members of the backline have already played in Serie A victories this season, and the manager is putting his trust in the entire squad.

Inzaghi feels that his team are still strong enough to get the job done even with the recent injury setbacks.

“I am fortunate to have a squad full of professionals who always give everything in training,” he stated.

“Tonight we have an injury crisis in defense,” he went on, “we are also missing De Vrij, Kolarov, Ranocchia and Darmian, but I have no doubt in those who are playing.”

“Bastoni had gastroenteritis overnight which has meant he is unavilable, as others are,” he added. “We are in the middle of a bit of an injury problem, but there is no problem.”
