Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini has said that Simone Inzaghi’s Inter side have more freedom in their play than they did under Antonio Conte, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Whilst speaking to TMW Radio, Andrea Mandorlini explained that the team are calmer and have a less rigid tactical approach now than they did last season.

“I see Inter as being calmer and less tied to certain patterns. They are more serene and free to play.”

The main reason that Inter hired Simone Inzaghi is that he liked to use an extremely similar 3-5-2 system that the outgoing Antonio Conte favours.

This would mean that Inter did not have to overhaul the squad entirely to fit the ideals of a new manager with a different way of doing things.

Whilst the similarities are plain to see, there does appear to more attacking freedom within Simone Inzaghi’s Inter side which is why they are the league’s highest scorers this season.

They have now scored in 34 consecutive Serie A fixtures.
